The Ant-Blox Story

In 2009, founder Jan-Peter Oudenampsen started keeping ant colonies as a passion project. What began as a personal fascination rapidly evolved into a full-scale innovation lab dedicated to promoting ants as fascinating pets and engineering custom modular housing systems for keepers worldwide.

Since starting in 2009, I have turned my passion for ants into a full-time mission to elevate ant keeping into a recognized global hobby. I regularly conduct educational workshops for schools and corporations, and have featured as the lead ant expert on several national television programs and major nature documentaries—including constructing live ant cinematography sets for wildlife feature films!

In collaboration with biologists, researchers, and entomologists, I am an active member of the Dutch Ant Working Group (MWG), dedicated to scientific ant research and species conservation. Today, our headquarters houses thousands of thriving colonies, and our team manufactures cutting-edge modular systems shipped across the globe.
